Dermot is a Senior Underwriter focused on Energy, Power and Renewable risks. He underwrites all classes of traditional Energy business (upstream, midstream and refining), Power business (including traditional power risks) and Renewables business (wind, hydro, solar and BSM).

Prior to Specialty MGA UK, Dermot has over 40 years of underwriting experience in London insurance market including Lloyd’s of London. He has also worked in the Middle East where he set-up and managed Qatar Re as CEO. He also worked at Emirates International in UAE where he served as the CUO and was principally underwriting Energy and Marine portfolios. Dermot also spent two years working in various roles at elseco MGA Dubai.

Dermot holds an honours degree in English Law from the University of Exeter (LLB Hons) and a Diploma in Management (DMS) from Henley Management College, UK.

Alex specialises in upstream and midstream energy.

He joined Specialty MGA UK from Travelers, and with more than 25 years of experience in the market, he brings a global network of clients and brokers, with a particular focus on the US, Europe and Africa.

Savita is a Senior Underwriter for Energy at Specialty MGA UK. She has more than 25 years’ experience of managing a global portfolio of business, across downstream energy, mining, onshore power, and renewables. Prior to Specialty MGA UK, Savita worked at Ocean Re, where she served as Head of Energy, and previously spent a decade as an energy underwriter at Swiss Re. Additionally, she has experience as an energy risk consultant in Africa.

Victor is responsible for underwriting Property, Engineering and Energy business worldwide, but with a development focus in Latin America (including Brazil) and the Caribbean.

With over 30 years of industry experience in insurance and reinsurance, Victor is known for developing relationships. He has served as a multi-line Underwriter and Head of Reinsurance operations PC&Life for LATAM and the Caribbean, and has worked with companies such as Saint Paul Re, SCOR, AIG and Transatlantic Reinsurance Company (TRC).

Marco is a Senior Underwriter at Specialty MGA, specialising in Property, Energy, and Construction.

With over 25 years of experience, including 5 years specialising in Renewable Energy with PERse, Marco brings more than two decades of focus on Latin American Reinsurance markets, including at Assicurazioni Generali, Redbridge Property & Casualty MGA supported by Lloyd’s, and PERse International MGA. He has experience in loss prevention and technical risk analysis thanks to a strong technical foundation as a Mechanical Engineer, with 15 years of hands-on experience in energy and engineering consulting.

Marco holds a master in Mechanical Engineering from Universita’ di Trieste, Italy.

Sam is a renowned insurance and reinsurance professional with over 30 years’ Lloyd’s underwriting experience in construction and energy, having begun his career in hull and machinery insurance.

He is well known in the international market and previously worked at Advent, where he had a successful track record of supporting clients across the world, bringing with him a global network of brokers, insurers and agents.
